Having an Indoor Option Can Save Your Outdoor Wedding

An outdoor wedding is a great idea in Colorado. With more than 300 days of sunshine and low humidity, it’s usually very comfortable to be outside, even for guests in formal wear. Beautiful blue skies and the majestic Rockies also make for an excellent backdrop to your wedding. That’s why we designed our grounds so luxuriously, with winding stone paths, waterfalls, pavilions, and marble gazebos.

But there’s always a chance that your special day—chosen months or even years in advance—might suddenly turn nasty. A little rain is often not a problem. (Our pavilions, for example, can keep you and your guests dry during the ceremony, and the fireplaces lend warmth.) However, when the wind picks up and begins driving the rain and chilling your guests, it’s probably time to take it inside.

With the unpredictable weather in Colorado, having an indoor option isn’t really optional—it’s a necessity. Having your indoor option at the same venue as your outdoor option is a good idea, too.

Have an Indoor Option at the Same Location

When your indoor option is at the same venue as your outdoor one, you can relax, because last-minute changes won’t throw the whole day off.

You can wait longer before you have to make the decision whether to hold the ceremony inside or outside—early morning cloud and light drizzle can often burn off by the time of the ceremony, leaving a bright, clear midmorning. It would be a shame to miss out on your outside wedding just because you had to make the decision too early.

Best of all, you don’t have to worry that guests won’t get the message as they’re preparing for the ceremony. Many of your guests can be counted on to be alert, but what about the best man that has a habit of partying until late and forgetting to check his messages?

At Stonebrook Manor, our wedding venue is designed for beautiful ceremonies, inside and out. We invite you to look at the gallery of pictures or come and take a stroll of the grounds and see for yourself.
