There is no set number of bridesmaids for your wedding. Only a few guidelines and maybe a practical limit. How many you have largely depends on you.
For some people, it’s very easy to choose the number of bridesmaids. You have a close circle of friends who are the natural choice. That’s the right number, and don’t let anyone tell you different (though family diplomacy may dictate that you invite someone from your fiancé’s family). Other times, you may have a harder time drawing the line, at which point it’s time to look at some of the other factors.
Probably the only hard-and-fast rule is that your bridesmaids have to fit in the space at your wedding venue. If you’re at a small venue, you can’t have too many. You all need to have room to stand without being physically jammed together. You might decide to choose a wedding venue to accommodate your number of bridesmaids, but it’s much easier to change the number of bridesmaids than to find a venue that fits the number of bridesmaids you want, though some Denver wedding venues, like Stonebrook Manor, have multiple places you can choose for your ceremony so you have more flexibility.
If you’re worried that some people might feel left out of the bridal party, remember that there are other ways to honor your friends with functions and responsibilities before, during, and after the ceremony. And make sure you give them enough time and attention that they feel they haven’t just been given a “consolation prize” position.
Most people like for there to be the same number of bridesmaids and groomsmen. If you can’t decide how many bridesmaids to have, you can defer to your fiancé and let him pick his groomsmen, then go with the same number.
