3 Things NOT To Do When Planning Your Wedding

Everyone knows just how terrifying and stressful planning your wedding can be. And yet, no matter how anxious you may be, there are certain things you should absolutely not do when planning for the Big Day. Here are some of the most important ones to keep in mind:

• One of the most important things not to do when planning your wedding is updating your Facebook status to “engaged” before calling your close relatives and friends. After all, the last thing you want is having your mom find out about your engagement after all of your middle school classmates have already done it. That’s not how to start your wedding planning! Call your mom, grandmother and all the other close relatives and friends and only then update your Facebook status.
• Not being insistent with the RSVPs. These days, submitting RSVPs is easier than ever (with email, wedding websites and/or even text messages being allowed by many couples). And yet, there always seem to be guests who simply forget about their RSVPs. Although you may feel a bit odd about having to do this, make sure you call them if the “deadline” has already passed and if you know that your caterers, venue and other vendors will need a clear number soon.
• Wear yourself out. Seriously, everyone knows that you want this day to be flawless, but don’t wear yourself out. After all, nobody is going to judge you if the napkins on the table don’t look as if they were torn out of a glossy magazine and nobody is going to point fingers at you if one flower arrangement did not “make it” to your ceremony. On the other hand though, stressing yourself out too much over all these details can make you feel tired, ill and without energy – and that’s definitely not how you want to be on your Big Day!
