The week of your wedding will probably be one of the most stressful ones in the entire wedding planning process. While it is wise not to leave everything for the last moment, there are things you should definitely do this week. Here are 5 of the most important ones:
Re-confirm the details with your wedding vendors. Call your caterer, your venue and all the other wedding vendors and re-confirm with them all the small details they need to know for the Big Day (this will include time, location and other details necessary for them to provide you with the excellent service you need). Also, call your drivers and provide them with all the information they need. Don’t forget to do the same with your makeup artist and hair stylist!
The week of your wedding is also the final countdown for the payments. Place the money (including the tips) in envelopes for each of your vendors and leave them to a person you trust who will distribute the envelopes on the wedding day. Very frequently, this person is a parent, the Maid of Honor or the Best Man – but you can choose anyone else you trust too.
If you haven’t done this already, write your wedding vows and your speech. Don’t rush and take your time - but whatever you do, make sure you have these ready at least one day before the wedding (the night before is definitely not the time to stress yourself out over vows and speeches).
Pack a wedding emergency kit. Include band-aids, fashion tape, needles and threads and everything else you might need in case there’s an accident with your dress or tuxedo. Don’t forget to include fast stain-removal products as well!
Pack your honeymoon luggage. Include everything you need for the wedding night and for the honeymoon proper. You might want to leave everything that’s needed on the actual wedding night in a separate small luggage (and have it delivered to your hotel before you arrive there). Also, keep in mind that you might want to pack something for the “wedding exit” (a lot of brides and grooms choose to change their clothes before they bid their guests farewell).
